Ever tried to complain to eBay about a non-paying buyer, or their own hopelessly inadquate customer services? Here’s my experience -
Mariel Welcome to ebay Live Help. This is Mariel. Mariel Hello Ste[hen, I’m happy to be able to assist you today. Mariel
**Stephen irenic-i If you really want to help me, get the two fucking arse-holes who haven’t paid for their purchases to pay up. Do you think you can do that?
Mariel I understand you are concerned about the item you sold and your buyer hasn’t paid for it. I’ll look into this for you. Mariel May I ask for the item number for this transaction please? Thanks.
irenic-i It’s been three weeks. I’ve taken out UID’s on both of these, but I am still out of pocket. eBay protects buyers better than it protects sellers - and it is sellers from whom you make your profits. I have no redress from these people, and I can’t even leave negative feedback about them. That is is unfair!!!!
Mariel Thank you for that information. I’ll need 2 minutes to investigate the situation. I would appreciate your patience. Mariel Thank you for waiting. Thank you for waiting. I’ve checked the transaction and it appears that you opened an unpaid item case for this item. I appreciate this step as it the best way to remind the buyer to pay for the item. Since more than 4 days had passed already and your buyer didn’t pay, you can now close this case and receive your final value fee credit and relist the item. Mariel Would you like me to close this case for you? Mariel Please also note that doing this will allow you to lodge an unpaid item record on your buyer’s account. Please bear in mind that if the buyer receives several unpaid item records, it will lead to restriction of their account.
irenic-i The buyer entered into a legally binding contract to buy the item from me - I still haven’t received payment. I don’t want the case closed, I want the money that is owed to me. These buyers owe me nearly £40 - why can’t eBay deduct this amount from their PP ac’s and pay me?
Mariel As that is the case, you can contact your buyer through phone and remind them again to pay for the item they purchased from you. Mariel Here’s how to request the buyer’s phone number: 1. Click ‘Advanced’ at the top of the eBay homepage. 2. In the ‘Members’ section on the left-hand side of the page, click ‘Find contact information’. 3. Enter the buyer’s user ID and the item number. 4. Click ‘Search’. Mariel We’ll then send you an automatic email with the buyer’s contact details. Please be aware that at the same time, we’ll send the buyer your contact details. We feel it maintains trust and fairness on eBay if members know that another member has asked for their contact information.
irenic-i I do nt have the buyers’ phone numbers, and I shouldn’t have to remind them to pay especially if eBay has taken this up on my behalf. Or has it? eBay doesn’t give a shit about sellers not being paid! All eBay cares about it getting fees from sellers! Total crap! Where’s my money?????
Mariel That is why I am advising you now to contact your buyer through phone by requesting it through our site. We have already sent the buyer a reminder to pay for the item.
irenic-i Buyers don’t have to proved a phone number! I can phone them, and if they don’t pay then what? Why can’t eBay enforcement a legally binding agreement??? Absolute shite on your part! irenic-i I’ve already sent the buyer a reminder!!!!! They still haven’t paid!!!! Do you understand why I’m so frustrated????? eBay don’t give a shit about sellers being ripped off by negligent buyers!!!!! You people make me sick!!!!!!
irenic-i “Trust and fairness on eBay’? When buyers are allowed to get away with this kind of shit???
irenic-i Mariel! Wake up! Talk to me! Mariel
Our site is only a venue where anyone can offer, sell and buy just about anything, at anytime, from anywhere, in a variety of formats. At no point do we have possession of anything listed or sold through the site. Mariel Because eBay is not involved in the actual transaction between Buyers and Sellers we have no control over the ability of buyers to pay for items Mariel We have a User Agreement and a set of policies that outline what we expect from our members. You can find out more about eBay’s responsibilities in our User Agreement, under the heading ‘Liability’. To read it, copy this link into a new browser window: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/user-agreement.html Mariel Given this situation, I would suggest that you contact your buyers directly and inform them about the situation. The best way to do this is to give them a phone call as very often, problems with eBay transactions are resolved amicably with a quick conversation. You can request their contact information at the following eBay page: http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9
irenic-i I want the money that’s owed to me! What is eBay going to do about it??? Mariel It is best to relist the item. irenic-i You own PP, so you certainly have possession of my and everyone else’s money, why can’t you enforce this legally binding contract????? Mariel That is why we are giving seller to relist the item once the buyer failed to pay for the teim. Mariel *item
irenic-i Speak English - “We are giving seller to relist the item…” - that is poor English! Speak properly!!!
Mariel I’m sorry if you feel that way. I’ve properly laid out all the options that you can utilise to have this addressed. I’ve checked every angle of the situation and I simply cannot comply with your request for the sole reason that the feedback does not fit our criteria for removal.
Mariel Please understand that I cannot assist you any further as I’ve already given you all the information and available options to address the issue while referring to our existing policies. Mariel If there isn’t anything else that I may help you with, I’m afraid that I will now be closing this session. Chat Session Ended, Goodbye. (5010)
